![]() But not a big deal, since my Shield will sleep automatically after 20 minutes (user-configurable) of non-use. I don't have a way to Power Off the Shield. Note: Flirc Previous and Next do not work, whether paired under Controllers->Kodi or Controllers->Media Keys.Īs indicated above, I got Power On to work. ** Note: the Rewind and Forward keys work when paired under Controllers->Media Keys, but don't work when I paired Rewind and Forward under Controllers->Kodi. **Forward Forward (aside: I believe cursor key right can also be used for Forward, at least in Plex). **Rewind Rewind (aside: I believe cursor key left can also be used for Rewind, at least in Plex). Numeric keys Numeric Keys (0 to 9) Media Keys: This command seems to take you to home page, as expected. My primary purpose of using Shield TV is for Plex, so I focused on making the commands work for Plex.īelow are the Controllers and commands (in Flirc and the corresponding old NVIDIA Shield IR code) that I used with the Flirc software (again, it doesn't matter what IR codes that you use, but for me, I decided to use the old NVIDIA IR codes): I used the old NVIDIA Shield IR codes. I have a Pronto remote, so I was able to copy-and-paste the old NVIDIA Shield codes posted online to my Pronto, and then I used my Pronto to "teach" the commands to the Flirc. As discussed in the doc & other forum threads, it doesn't matter what remote IR commands you use, as long as they are not used for any other devices in your system. The Flirc documentation made it seem a lot simpler than it was, but various commands were missing when I only followed the Flirc doc, so I had to define commands using 3 different controllers in the Flirc software. I had to go over the Flirc documentation and other Flirc forum threads. Shield Skip+Flirc_Buttons.docx Shield+Flirc.skip Shield_config.How did you get it to work with Shield TV Pro 2019? Keep in mind that I primarily use Kodi on the Shield, so this is what this config is focused on, but it works fine in Android TV. Then, and if they would include a full Keyboard profile, the Flirc software would become redundant. At this moment, this can only be done via the Flirc software and may eventually become available in the Skips 1s software. I intend to use more double and long press actions for buttons. For reference, I've made a document to see what was done in the past with both the Skip 1s and the Flirc software. I've attached the config files, but in order to re-evaluate at some time, you'll nee to keep track of your config in some other way. It can act as an example, but once you add your own devices, all those button mappings are lost and are in their default state. I certainly would, but it's of no use to you. Is there some particular method to set the USB and the Skip to work together? When you use them together, do you actually assign the keys in the Flirc app, as well as assigning them in Skip? Would I be better served by purchasing a generic I/R receiver for the Shield? I have my TV and my Denon receiver configured as well, and they work just fine. I've assigned the various cursor keys to the controls on the Skip via the Skip app, but they don't seem to do anything. ![]() But now when I try to use the Skip to control the Sheild, nothing happens. That seemed to solve the spurious signals. I re-tried it numerous times, and finally reverted the USB back to the Minimalist configuration. I originally tried to set the USB to use the Shield pre-configuration, but when I did, it ended up sending spurious signals to the Shield. My Shield edition doesn't have an I/R sensor (I didn't know this before), so I also purchased a Flirc USB. I just received my Skip, and I'm trying to get it to work with my Shield. ![]()
